Sankofa—Go Back and Get It: Pausing to Reflect on the Past to Make Space for the Present and Wisely Choose the Future through San Francisco Zen Center
The Ghanaian principle of Sankofa, that we must look backward in order to move forward, will support us in creating space for pause so that presence and wisdom can arise precisely when we are overwhelmed and our lives feel anything but spacious. In this two-hour workshop we will pause to reflect on the past, to make space for the present, and wisely choose the future. Learn the ancient Ignatian practice of Examen, a series of four questions that guide us in a compassionate reflection on the past day, week, month, or year so that we can integrate the gifts and the learnings of our past and make the most of them in the present and future.
